Elizabeth Schepisi Fossum2025-06-28 We had the pleasure of working with Kristin at Canalside Speech, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. As a speech-language pathologist, Kristin demonstrated exceptional expertise and professionalism. She provided us with clear, practical guidance on how to support our child’s oral language development, and her sessions were consistently informative and engaging. Kristin offered thoughtful instruction and constructive feedback during each session, along with helpful resources to reinforce the skills addressed. Her approach is both knowledgeable and compassionate, creating a supportive environment for both children and parents. We are extremely pleased with the progress our child has made under her care and are grateful for her dedication and insight. Kristin is a true asset to the field, and we wholeheartedly recommend her services to any family seeking speech and language support. Nicki Brugler2025-06-27 My 2nd grade son worked with Kristin this year, and she has been absolutely fantastic. Although he didn’t qualify for speech support through the school district, I chose to pull him out during his lunch period once a week so he could work with Kristin—and it was the best decision. Kristin helped him with a few specific letter sounds, focusing on correcting his tongue and mouth placement so he could produce the sounds accurately. Thanks to her expertise and patient approach, he made significant progress and gained so much confidence. His classroom participation has improved, and even his teacher noticed how much more comfortable he is speaking in front of the class. We are so grateful for Kristin’s help and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a speech therapist! Kim Pinkey2025-05-08 My son needed a speech therapist when he was about a year old. When my county couldn't find us one through early intervention, I found out about Canalside through his ENT's office. We travelled an hour every week to work with Kristin. She was amazing. My son loved his sessions with her. Kristin was so super hands on, made my son so at ease and while working with him, taught me so much as well so I could continue the work at home. I highly recommend Canalside Speech, they are sooo wonderful to work with, you will have zero regrets! Katie Calabria2025-03-10 Before our daughter was even diagnosed, and while we were waiting for services from Early Intervention, Kristin was an incredible support. She not only went above and beyond at every session but also took the time to listen and support me as a mom learning how to advocate for her child with disabilities. I truly can’t put into words how much of a blessing Kirstin has been to our family. Kendra Kraham2024-09-20 Kristen succeeded where others couldn't for our son! Lena Budd2024-09-19 Kristin is an amazing SLP and we are so grateful to her. When our two year old was placed on the very long wait list for Early Intervention Kristin was able to see him quickly so he wouldn’t miss any more time. He learned and grew so much with her, and we learned how to support his speech needs as parents. I definitely recommend checking out Canalside if you’re having any concerns about your child’s development!! Allison Young2024-09-17 Kristin is an incredible clinician. She has an abundance of knowledge, creates a plan for your child, and is prepared at every session with engaging activities. I am so grateful for the progress she helped us make. Teachers and family members could not believe the rapid and huge improvements. We highly recommend her! Karla Kirtland2023-12-07 Kristin went above and beyond for our son. She always created fun activities that kept him engaged and excited to go. She was very proactive in communicating with his teachers to ensure what she was doing in his sessions was complementary and supportive of what he needed in school. She also provided activities and tips for us at home which were extremely helpful. I cannot recommend Kristin enough! Jessica Angeline2023-09-20 I can’t say enough great things about Kristin Bergholtz and Canalside Speech. We began working with Kristin to supplement the speech therapy my son was already receiving from another source because I was concerned about his progress. After just a few sessions, I noticed significant progress in my son’s articulation and overall confidence. Having seen several different speech therapists work with my son, I can attest that Kristin is extremely talented and truly passionate about what she does. Her ability to connect, relate, and work with children is very special. She quickly made my son feel at ease and begin enjoying his speech therapy sessions – which is often half the battle! I appreciated all of the thought, attention, and detail that she put into every session – and her ability to simultaneously work with my son while providing feedback to me in real-time was extremely impressive! As a parent, this empowered me to take her feedback/guidance and reinforce those areas my son was working on, outside of our sessions. We are forever grateful for the huge impact Kristin has made! James Cardella2023-09-12 The level of care that my son received from here was something I could not measure. As a single father of an autistic child, Kristin gave me the tools that I needed to help him learn and get him started for school. She also helped guide me on what I needed to do so I could get started for services and she helped me get him into the stars Liberty school which was a perfect fit for him. All around I couldn’t be happier with her working with my son for a year and a half. Thank you 💜Load more

Around 2YO and for almost two years after that, we could tell that our son was starting to show signs of needing extra help with his speech. We could always see that his level of understanding far outpaced his ability to communicate his thoughts effectively. As a result, it started having an effect on other parts of his life simply because he could not convey to others the thoughts that were in his head especially if he saw his peers being able to do so. In less than a year’s time, Ms. Kristin changed all of that single handedly. Our son has always been slow to warm up to people, but Ms. Kristin had a way of working her way into his circle of trust very quickly and forming a bond much like a friendship. From there the change she was able to affect not just in his speech but in other aspects of his life was transformative and truly priceless. We signed up for general speech therapy and after a few weeks of sessions we began to see some real progress. It wasn’t until after a couple months that we began to see a major transformation taking place before our eyes week after week and before we knew it he was speaking in full sentences with articulation and complex thought. Even better was the effect that these sessions had in other areas of his life and personal growth. On school days where he had speech sessions, he would noticeably come home more excited, happy, confident, talkative, and his social skills went through the roof in peer 1 on 1 interactions and group play. Her style is one where he never felt different for having to work with her during class, but more privileged like he was lucky to be the one who got to spend time with her during class. From a parental perspective, Ms. Kristin is proactive, friendly, very intelligible, and always followed-up promptly with updates on their sessions and gave us activities to work on with him. We honestly could not have foreseen one person having this great of an impact on our son. When he finally “graduated” it was truly a bittersweet moment because although we were so proud to see his tremendous speech growth, it was always going to be tough saying goodbye to the person who affected that change and made him so happy. I wish there were 100 ‘Ms. Kristin’s’ around town helping all the kids who truly need it, but it makes us so happy knowing that while our son no longer needs her services, that just means another child and family can realize the invaluable benefit of her work. She really cares and will change your child’s life forever and for the better. We are incredibly grateful for her.
